A-6648 impact modifier improves ABS Izod 22.6KJ/M2
Good News !!!
Recently one of our customers who is having a new project on the recycled ABS ,and but it is super low izod , so like to improve the IZOD impact strength for their recycled ABS.
they tested our ARGIOPE® impact modifier(A-6648, A-6641, A-688, A-698) with other competitors impact modifiers( R1, R2, R3). addition percentage 5% of different impact modifier, and compare the results as below :
From above picture , TOP1 is our A-698 ABS PC impact modifier , by adding A-698 *5% , could improve the ABS izod impact strength to 23.5 kj/m2 from 14.5 kj/m2
TOP2 is our A-6648 ABS PC impact modifier , by adding A-6648 *5% , could improve the ABS izod impact strength to 22.6 kj/m2 from 14.5 kj/m2
In in the end , customer chosen A-6648 ABS impact modifier instead of A-698 Model for using in their recycled ABS application , mainly because the A-698 cost is much higher than A-6648, while only 0.9kj/m2 difference .
In fact , A-688 ABS impact modifier works better in virgin ABS materials to improve the Izod impact strength.
A-6648 ABS impact modifier works better in recycled and Alloy PC+ABS materials to improve the IZOD impact strength .
